Today is the 20th June and this is F1Minute.
Although Rosberg continued his tradition of topping Free Practice sessions this morning, today was all about the Red Bulls once again. Vettel brought his form across from yesterday and took pole position for the British Grand Prix. Barrichello lines up beside him in second, whilst Button struggled a little more and starts back in sixth.
During the first session of qualifying, Sutil had a big smash with just 24 seconds left to go. He got out the car and was fine, checked over by the medical centre and cleared to race. The car may need a little more TLC, though. The red flag effectively meant the end of the session and that left Hamilton starting his third consecutive race from the back of the grid. Notably, Nakajima grabbed fifth at the last minute, which not only demoted Button but also sees the Williams driver ahead of his teammate for the first time, with his best ever F1 qualifying position.
That’s it for today, join me again tomorrow for another F1Minute.
