Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 18th October 2009.
Webber won the Brazilian Grand Prix, joined on the podium by Kubica and Hamilton, but all the attention was on Button who finished fifth, good enough to secure the championship. That sounds very familiar to last year, doesn’t it? The first lap was filled with incidents, with Sutil and Trulli coming together and almost having a punch up once they were outside their cars. Kovalainen also left the pits too early, pulling his fuel hose with him and spraying Räikkönen behind. There was a brief flash fire. No harm done though.
After a short safety car period, Button was awesome, overtaking his way through the field. Webber came out of the pits in the lead, having jumped Barrichello and kept his nose down at the front. Rubens couldn’t stay out of trouble, struggling with traffic and eventually picking up a puncture. However, he finished in the points allowing Brawn to secure the constructors championship as well.
That’s all for now, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
