It’s the 17th April 2009 and this is F1Minute.

Hamilton was fastest in Free Practice 1 this morning, after running the McLaren with a new, temporary double-decker diffuser. Meanwhile, Trulli cruised to the garage after just half an hour, suffering an electrical problem that was fixed before the end of the session.

In Free Practice 2, Jenson Button topped the timesheets, with Rosberg two hundredths of a second behind him. Barrichello was fastest through most of the session but his teammate managed to grab the headlines before the timer hit zero.

Elsewhere, Flavio Briatore has had some scathing words to say about the Brawn drivers, hidden behind complaints over the diffuser debacle. The Renault boss called one almost retired and the other much too slow, but the pair have hit back. Button said Flavio was simply bitter that Renault haven’t got a competitive car, whilst Barrichello called the Italian a “bad loser.” Don’t you just love a good cat fight?

That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
