Today is the 16th June 2009, and this is F1Minute.
Mark Webber has revealed that he’s really enjoying having Vettel as a teammate, despite the fact that the young German is proving quite a force to be reckoned with. In fact, Webber says he is enjoying the challenge, but understands they have to work together as well. Of the fact that either driver can be ahead at any one time, he says: “It’s going to be like that for the rest of the season. There’ll be weekends when I do better and weekends when he does but the most important thing is that we get the best out of the car.”
Elsewhere, it looks like Piquet is still clinging onto his job at Renault, just about. Team manager Steve Nielsen has defended the Brazilian, saying “Nelson is still a driver who is quite young in terms of experience. I think he needs a bit more time, and given a bit more time and a better car, hopefully he can produce some results.” He added that a better car would help Fernando’s confidence, which in turn would help Piquet’s. We’ll see.
That’s it for now, please join me again tomorrow for another F1Minute.
