This is F1Minute for the 11th February 2009.

The bad weather in Bahrain continued today, with just half an hour of running before a massive sandstorm kicked up. The medical helicopter couldn’t take off, and the session was red flagged. The three teams only managed to complete an average of 17 laps each with Massa the fastest and running did not continue for the rest of the day.

Things were a lot better in Jerez, where Buemi continued to lead in the ’08 car, but Kovalainen made it best of the 2009 bunch in the McLaren. All eyes were on Webber as he returned to the car for the first time since breaking his leg in November. He was third fastest, completed well over race distance, and said that getting back in the car was easier than he had anticipated.

Renault were again at the bottom of the pile, with Piquet completing just 49 laps. He said it was a frustrating affair, but they have learnt some “interesting” things. That doesn’t sound good, does it?

That’s all for now, please join me again tomorrow for another F1Minute.
