This is F1Minute for the 10th June 2008.
Toro Rosso have found a potential investor in British Formula Three team Ultimate Motorsport. Negotiations are ongoing, and there are no specific details at the moment, but Ultimate Motorsport won their first F3 race last weekend, and are looking to the future. Team Principal Barry Walsh said: “We always set out with Formula One as the target. I would only have got involved in the project in the first place if I was confident we could take it all the way to F1, that is the aim.”
Elsewhere, today, there are disagreeing viewpoints on the ten place grid penalty imposed on both Rosberg and Hamilton for France. Hamilton thinks it’s a bit harsh, whilst Rosberg says it is a penalty they deserve for the pit lane incident. Martin Whitmarsh said that the ten place drop will most likely ruin Hamilton’s chances of winning the race in France.
And finally, BMW have altered their test program for Barcelona this week, to allow Heidfeld some time to practice getting his tyres working over short distances.
That’s all for today, please join me again tomorrow for another F1Minute.
