Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 5th October 2009.
There is good news on the Felipe Massa recovery front, as the driver took to karting for the first time last week and did so well that he has been approved to test out an F1 car. The FIA have agreed for Massa to run the F2007 with GP2 tyres on, just as Schumacher did when he was assessing his potential comeback. Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that although there is talk he could return for Abu Dhabi, they are only really thinking of preparing him for Bahrain next year. Today, Massa returned to Ferrari HQ at Maranello for the first time since his accident, and he described it as coming home to his second family.
Elsewhere, with three drivers still in the running for the title this year, the battle is starting to hot up. Red Bull boss Christian Horner says the pressure is all on Brawn, as they have two drivers in the fight, and it is much harder to defend than it is to chase. Barrichello has said he isn’t thinking about the maths at all, but he will be heading to Brazil and Abu Dhabi intent on winning each race.
That’s all for today, please join me tomorrow for another F1Minute.
