Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 3rd October 2009.

Yesterday I joked about not having enough content for a full minute. Today I am paying for that. Here goes.

FP3 was dry and pretty quiet, except Webber crashed his car into the barriers so badly the mechanics couldn’t get it fixed in time for qualifying.

During Q1, Buemi crashed into the same corner, but the mechanics did get him out again. In Q2, Alguersuari was off into that corner again. He went to the medical centre but was okay. Red flag number one. A few minutes after the restart, Glock went into the tyre barriers in a serious crash. Red flag number two. He was removed from the car, stretchered to the helicopter and taken to hospital. He had a leg wound and was complaining of back pain, but did raise a thumb to the crowd on the way.

At the end of Q3, Buemi went off again, scattered debris on track and caused yellow flags. Button, Sutil, Barrichello and Alonso were all given penalties for not slowing down. The grid is a mess but what we do know is that Vettel is on pole.

That’s all for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
