This is F1Minute for the 2nd March 2009.

Force India launched their new car yesterday, the VJM02. The new livery was also revealed, with the gold sidepods gone, and a much greener nose with orange and white to emulate the Indian flag. Fisichella took to the wheel during the first day of this week’s Jerez test and finished ahead of both McLaren and Renault. Meanwhile, Vettel posted the fastest time of the day in the Red Bull, ahead of Massa in the Ferrari.

The test continued today, although there were showers to contend with throughout. Glock was fastest, ahead of Kubica in the BMW. Vettel was way down in fifth, but was one of two drivers posting over 100 laps. For the second day in a row, Piquet posted the slowest time of the day, whilst Ferrari decided not to run in the wet.

Elsewhere, Pedro de la Rosa has condemned the ban on in-season testing, suggesting that if a third driver had to jump into the car at short notice, he would be rusty, and it could be dangerous.

That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
