Biography

Roger Peart designed the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal, making best use of his training as a civil engineer. He had his first real taste of motorsport as a mechanic, and made his way up to driving, preferring the Canadian National Rally Championship.

After becoming part of the team that brought the Canadian Grand Prix to Montreal with the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and designing the track, Peart became President of the Canadian automotive body and heads up the FIA's Circuits Commission.
