Biography

Gutjahr was a racing driver in the 1960s, making his way up to Formula 3, where he drove for the March team. After retiring from motorsport as an active athlete, he became President of the Autombile Club Berne, and of the board that organised the Swiss GP in 1980, 81 and 82.

He was President of the Swiss national automobile club for 25 years, stepping down in 2005. Since then, he has turned his attention to stewarding alongside his presiding duties. He is President of the European Hill Climb Organisers, and has been stewarding in Formula One circles since 1995.
