Mika Salo made his F1 debut in 1994, driving for the final two races of the season for Team Lotus. He moved on through Tyrrell, Arrows, BAR and Ferrari, where he achieved his career high of a second place, as well as a follow-up third position as well. After a brief stint at Sauber, Salo's final racing season in F1 came in 2002 with the Toyota squad.

After leaving F1, Salo has participated in endurance racing, particularly the GT classes, and has won the GT2 class in Le Mans twice. Not content with sports cars, Mika has also raced in CART and V8 Supercars.
