Biography

Mark Blundell made a traditional start to his racing career, moving through Formula Ford and Formula 3000. Before moving to Formula One, however, he had a brief stint as a Le Mans racer, becoming the youngest driver to secure pole position at the endurance event. His Formula One debut came with Brabham in 1991, and he participated in four seasons altogether.

The F1 career highlight for Blundell was third place, achieved on three separate occasions at South Africa, Germany and Spain. After leaving F1 behind, he tried his hand at the CART series before moving behind the microphone to join the UK Formula One coverage team with ITV.
