Biography

Allan McNish is a well-known and popular figure in motorsport, and in Formula One despite the fact he only participated in one single season of the sport. He drove for Toyota in 2002, and was a test driver for Renault the following season, but he never made it into the points, with a career high of seventh place in Malaysia.

His efforts were better spent in the endurance races, with McNish creating a name for himself at Le Mans, becoming a triple champion, most recently in 2013. He's also participated in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the American Le Mans Series, with almost all seasons competed with the Audi team.

McNish has also spread his wings a little to take a turn behind the microphone, helping out with commentary duties on BBC's Radio 5live where he can.
