You would have expected Kimi Räikkönen to do well in Malaysia, with Sebastian Vettel struggling - given Kimi's front row grid slot and Seb's rear of the field starting position. That was turned on its head when Kimi's Ferrari was unable to start due to more power problems, and Vettel managed to haul his way through the field and finish in fourth place.

Out front, Hamilton was leading initially from pole position but lost out when Max Verstappen swept past and stormed to his second Formula One race victory. Daniel Ricciardo also finished on the podium to make it a supremely and surprisingly successful day for Red Bull.
