Nico Hülkenberg was already aware when he took part in qualifying that he would have to take a five place gearbox related penalty, so although it was a great job that saw him finish seventh, he would have been disappointed to subsequently drop out of the top ten. He moves down behind his teammate and Esteban Ocon in the Force India.

Daniil Kvyat also has a three place drop (and yet more penalty points to his name) after being found to have impeded another car during qualifying. That puts him down in 16th place, only ahead of the Williams and Sauber cars.
