The driver wobbles continued into the afternoon in Canada, with Sebastian Vettel narrowly missed hitting the Wall of Champions. Romain Grosjean spun three times, twice in two laps, whilst both Nico Hülkenberg and Marcus Ericsson brushed up against the barriers in their respective Renault and Sauber cars.

Red Bull had a difficult session with Daniel Ricciardo sitting out half of the running due to an engine problem, and Max Verstappen also finding his car shutting down beneath him. In the end it was Kimi Räikkönen fastest ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
