Valtteri Bottas finally got ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who has led both practice sessions so far, finishing in P1 but only just. The gap between the two Mercedes drivers is incredibly close and promises and interesting fight for pole position. Just ten minutes into this final practice, however, Lance Stroll stopped out on track with a gearbox issue, causing a virtual safety car period whilst the Williams car was recovered.

Fernando Alonso finished sixth fastest, a great job for him, whilst the Force India team were also running strongly in the top ten as well.
