The wind played a significant part of proceedings in final practice ahead of qualifying for the Bahrain race, with several drivers spinning and struggling to control their cars. Both Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen had off-track excursions, although the Red Bull driver went on to finish the session with the fastest time.

Romain Grosjean spun of track and collided with the barriers, losing the front wing of his Haas and spinning back across the tarmac. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo only set one timed lap of his own, whilst Kimi Räikkönen also kept his running to a minimum, appearing only at the very end of the session.
