It couldn't have been a tenser fight for the Renault and Toro Rosso squads, but the latter knew they couldn't do much to affect events having both drivers qualify so low on the grid. Instead, they had to sit back and watch Renault to see if they could have any chance of overtaking them in the find round of the year. And they did! Sainz retired but Hülkenberg finished well inside the top ten to move Renault in sixth place, four points ahead of their nearest rivals.

Mercedes stormed the results, naturally, and it was a good weekend for Ferrari, but Red Bull will have been disappointed to have one half of their team finish the race broken down at the side of the track.
