Hamilton leads the way as Nasr causes a red flag

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver out on a dusty track that gradually started to improve as the ninety minutes wore on. There was a red flag period when Felipe Nasr ran his Sauber over the kerbs which dislodged his front wing. The offending piece of carbon fibre then shattered, spreading debris all across the track which the marshals needed to clean up.

Max Verstappen was struggling a little, posting the 14th fastest time after a brake fire saw him confined to the garage for longer than he would have liked.
