Sebastian Vettel moved up to fourth place after his podium finish in China, leapfrogging Ferrari teammate Kimi Räikkönen. The battle for second place is tough, with Hamilton, Ricciardo and Vettel separated by only six points. Other climbers included Massa and Kvyat, whilst Pérez and the two McLaren drivers also made progress despite still being on zero points.

Romain Grosjean's superb start to the season came to a crashing halt in China, and the French driver dropped three places to eighth.
