Hamilton was the fastest driver on track for the second session in a row in Brazil, as Rosberg caught up to finish in second place. Williams were next in line, with Valtteri Bottas finishing ahead of Felipe Massa. Both the McLaren drivers however, struggled with technical problems on their cars, with Fernando Alonso abandoning his motor in favour of a stint as a cameraman instead.

Kimi Räikkönen was battling with Carlos Sainz on track, cutting up the Toro Rosso driver on the main straight and subsequently being investigated by the stewards - with no further action being taken.
