Race results - Spanish Grand Prix 2015 - Rosberg turns pole into first race win in Barcelona

Rosberg secures his first win of the season

If Lewis Hamilton had hoped to get past his teammate off the Spanish start line, and continue his run of race victories, he was to be disappointed. A poor start saw Hamilton lose out to Sebastian Vettel and almost to Valtteri Bottas as well, but of course he recovered to chase his teammate to the line. Even with a botched pit stop, Mercedes managed to take the top two steps of the podium, with Rosberg securing his first win of the season.

Overtaking opportunities were few and far between, and the only retirements of the race came from Fernando Alonso - who overshot his pit stop after a brake failure and was immediately pushed into the garage - and Pastor Maldonado, who suffered several issues and eventually called it a day for his fourth DNF of five races.
