Free Practice 1 results - Malaysian Grand Prix 2015 - Hamilton sits out the session as Alonso makes his comeback

Nico Rosberg topped the times for the first session in Sepang, after a mixed morning for Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton failed to complete a timed lap with an engine problem keeping him in the garage. Meanwhile, McLaren driver Fernando Alonso made his first appearance of the year making his comeback from the testing accident that sidelined him in Australia.

It was also the first time we got to see the Manor team on track, with both drivers making an appearance and completing 16 laps between them. Valtteri Bottas was also back in action, but the Williams team didn't quite have the pace they might have hoped. Instead it was Ferrari who were best of the rest, with Romain Grosjean fourth in line.
