Sergio Pérez crashes in first practice

Friday in Hungary got underway much like all other weekends, with Lewis Hamilton leading the way. There was a shock, though, for Sergio Pérez, who ended his session upside down on track after a bizarre accident. With rear suspension failure, the Force India spun into the barriers, dislodging a wheel which went under the car and tipped the Mexican over. He was thankfully okay, but the red flag period was lengthy whilst he and the car were recovered.

Elsewhere, Jolyon Palmer was back in the Lotus, whilst Fabio Leimer made his practice debut for Marussia. Felipe Massa finished further down the order than he might have liked, whilst McLaren ended the morning just outside the top ten.
