Final practice was a scrappy hour of running, halted by two red flags. The first came after Felipe Nasr crashed his Sauber after losing control whilst weaving down the straights. He was thankfully unharmed, although the same couldn’t be said about the car. The second stoppage was brought about by Jenson Button, whose McLaren stopped out on track and brought the session to an early end. Fernando Alonso had his own troubles in the other McLaren, completing just three installation laps after the team completed an engine change.

Nico Rosberg set the fastest time, with Romain Grosjean posting the third fastest time again, echoing his performance from FP1. Lewis Hamilton was at the bottom of the timesheets, after completing only nine laps.
