Lewis Hamilton recovered from the last two races reducing his championship lead by snatching back some points over teammate and nearest rival Nico Rosberg. The pair are now split by 17, although that's still below the more comfortable "one race win" mark. Nico Hülkenberg improved his position in the standings, as did Pastor Maldonado who shot up three places to 15th.

The two Manor drivers remain on zero points, and the double DNF meant McLaren couldn't add to their tally at all, with Jenson Button remaining on just 4 points and Fernando Alonso still to get off the mark this year.
