It doesn't make for the most fascinating of race weekends, but you can't help marvelling at Mercedes domination of the sport this year. Their straight line success continues with another double podium finish at Silverstone, leaving Ferrari trailing in their week. Williams are continuing an upwards trajectory but must be disappointed with how the weekend worked out for them.

There were no position changes in the team standings following the British Grand Prix, but McLaren moved from 4 to 5 points, and Force India clawed out a ten point gap from Lotus, as the pair do battle for fifth place.
