The grid closed up a little as Williams driver Valtteri Bottas was forced to withdraw from the first race of the year due to a back injury sustained during qualifying. An issue with the seat in the Williams car meant Bottas had to be helped out after the session, complaining of lower back pain.

With neither Manor car able to participate either, the grid looks a little short ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. No penalties affect the order though, as the drivers make a tentative start to the 2015 season.
