Driver standings - Australian Grand Prix 2015 - Hamilton makes an early start on championship defence

The first race of the year allows the championship standings to echo the finishing order on a Sunday, with Hamilton scooping the maximum available points to kick off his title defence in style.

Both Sauber drivers picked up points, with Felipe Nasr securing ten championship points on his F1 debut. Carlos Sainz also managed to finish in the top ten for his first race, with two very respectable points.
