Pujolar has a lot of F1 experience, working for several teams across the course of his career. He spent much of it at Williams, working as a race engineer for several drivers including Mark Webber, and Pastor Maldonado, who he guided to an unexpected race victory. In 2016, Pujolar moved to the Sauber team to join them as Head of Trackside Engineering.

Biography

Pujolar started his motorsport career working for several teams in Go Kart FA International. He was charged with setting up the engines, and developing the chassis to get the most speed available out of the karts. He moved to single seater series' as a race engineer, first F-Nissan and then F3000.

His first role in Formula One was for the Jaguar team, as assistant race engineer to Eddie Irvine during the 2002 season. He then moved to Williams where he was a race engineer for seven years, assisting drivers such as Mark Webber, Alex Wurz and Juan Pablo Montoya. A brief stint at the HRT team saw him work with Bruno Senna, before he returned to Williams to be Pastor Maldonado's race engineer, helping the Venezuelan driver to a race victory in 2012.

Pujolar was promoted to Chief Race Engineer at Williams, but left the team at the end of 2013 to join Toro Rosso. He remained at the Italian team for two and a half years before taking another step up the career ladder for the Sauber team. He joined towards the end of the 2016 season as Head of Trackside Engineering, when the Sauber team were finally shoring up their finances and getting themselves back together to work on better results going forward.
