Biography

Tom McCullough had a brief racing career, participating in some Formula Ford 2000 events, but he mainly used the experience to learn about the engineering side of motorsport. He attended university with help from Champ Car team, Reynard, and once graduated, he joined the team in their research & development department.

When Reynard went out of business in 2002, McCullough joined Williams F1, originally working as a data engineer before moving on to become a race engineer. He spent several seasons with the team, talking the likes of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg around a lap, before quitting Williams at the end of 2012.

For the 2013 season, McCullough joined Sauber as Head of Track Engineering, but he spent only one season with the Swiss team, instead preferring to return to a British-based team. Many believed that he would follow Nico Hülkenberg to Force India for the 2014 season, and so it came to pass. McCullough joined the Silverstone-based squad in time for the first race of the year.
