Egginton has plenty of experience across several F1 teams, having started his career straight after studying engineering. He’s worked for Tyrell, Force India, Caterham and most recently Toro Rosso, currently holding the Head of Vehicle Performance role at the team. He also owns a bicycle design company, putting his design skills to further good use.

Jody fell in love with motorsport from an early age after picking up the racing bug from his father who was a driver and a mechanic. He studied engineering but abandoned his mainstream plans to enter the motorsport world instead. Alongside his efforts in the paddock, he founded Wlkie Cycles – a company that designs and manufactures top performance bicycles.

His F1 career began with a one year stint at Tyrell’s team, joining the design department as a junior engineer. He moved to Xtrac to become a design engineer and then spent five years in Germany with Opel Motorsport. After a brief stint with Aston Martin’s motorsport organisation, he returned to F1 with Force India.

In 2005, Egginton became a race engineer for the Silverstone squad, remaining with the team for five years. He then moved on to Caterham to become Chief Engineer and was promoted to Operations Director. However, the demise of the team saw him move to Toro Rosso, where he has remained ever since. Egginton takes up the Head of Vehicle Performance role at the team, and appeared in his first press conference for the squad in 2017.
