F1 biography

González made the traditional strides in motorsport through karting and Formula Three, before joining the GP2 Asia series in 2008. He drove for Fisichella Motor Sport and then joined the main GP2 series for Trident Racing. He continued in the series for the next few years, before joining Caterham Racing in 2012.

The Caterham connection gave him the chance to try out Formula One machinery in the Abu Dhabi Young Driver test of 2010. González was given a full time reserve driver role at Marussia for 2013, driving in two practice sessions during the year.

With no role for him in F1, González joined the European Le Mans series in 2014, and participated in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The following year, he joined the IndyCar series in the US after briefly testing during the off-season for several teams.
