After airing his frustrations about the pace of the Lotus car and its Renault engine, and wondering whether his future remains at the team or not, things are starting to turn the corner for French driver Romain Grosjean.

Lotus confirmed a new deal with Mercedes to use the championship-winning power plants from next season, and following that news, speculation increased that Grosjean is close to signing a deal to remain with the team for another year.

Both he and teammate Pastor Maldonado appeared to have more pace and more confidence in their respective cars this past weekend, with Grosjean riding high until a collision with Jean-Éric Vergne, and Maldonado picking up his first points of the season. A return to form by the team would be high on Romain's wish list.

He also revealed ahead of the US Grand Prix that he and his partner are expecting their second child, which is the icing on the cake.
