Plenty of focus during the Spanish Grand Prix was on the tyres, but for Force India it was for all the wrong reasons. Paul di Resta found himself with a delamination issue during practice, one which Pirelli later attributed to debris.

During the race itself, Force India suffered yet another terribly slow pit stop after they suffered from a cross-threading issue. Adrian Sutil was forced to sit and wait as the mechanics grappled with the tricky tyre, and he lost a lot of time and positions thanks to the delay.

After the race, the German said: "It was all going to plan until the first pit stop when there was an issue and I lost so much time. The team told me to switch the engine off while they sorted the problem, but it cost me the chance of points. For the rest of the race it was a case of pushing as much as possible because you never know what can happen."
