Sergio Pérez continues to recover in hospital after a big accident in yesterday's qualifying session ruled him out of the Grand Prix. The Sauber driver lost control of the car exiting the tunnel, and crashed into one barrier before bouncing heavily into another.

He was taken to hospital where tests showed his injuries to be a concussion and a sprained thigh. Reports today say that he's been watching the support races from his hospital bed, and is in good spirits.

After the accident, Pérez took to Twitter to reassure fans he was okay, saying: “Thanks for your support! In this moment thank God all is ok. Can’t race tomorrow but see you back in Montreal.”
