Sébastien Buemi surprised most onlookers when he scraped into the final session of qualifying on Saturday in Melbourne. His teammate was just a couple of places behind him but Buemi managed to qualify in tenth position.

Toro Rosso showed improved pace throughout the entire weekend, and Buemi managed to stay out of trouble in the race itself to finish in eighth position, picking up some very handy points.

The decent finish has Buemi fired up for the rest of the season, he said: "Towards the end, I was not able to hold off Massa, who was much quicker than me at that point, but I am still pleased with the result. Overall, I would say we are definitely more competitive than last year and now we must continue to move forward, bringing further improvements to the car."
