Sauber on the up, as Pérez leads and Kobayashi develops
Sauber F1

Sauber have a young line up for 2011, but so far they are showing signs of improvement, with Pérez topping the times in testing. Kamui Kobayashi is settling in for another year with the team, and is providing them with plenty of development feedback.

Technical director at Sauber, James Key, is happy with Kamui's testing so far: "Kamui is being very good. He's trying to assist as much as possible with our understanding the tyres and the way that the car is responding and we have all agreed with him where we think the weaknesses lie that we need to work on next. His feedback reflects what we are seeing."

Pérez raised eyebrows by leading the way during one day of the final Barcelona test, but the rookie is sure his low-fuel run won't be repeated easily: "People think that now I will go to Melbourne and win, but we have to be realistic. This won't happen."
