With HRT failing to qualify for the Australian Grand Prix, both drivers were left with a quiet Sunday afternoon. Narain Karthikeyan and Tonio Liuzzi took part in the driver parade, but were then left to their own devices whilst the race went on without them.

Karthikeyan completed the least laps of the two Hispania drivers, as the team concentrated on Liuzzi's car. Ahead of the qualifying session, he'd only managed a few laps and the weekend just didn't work out for him. Narain won't let it get him down though, and remains positive.

After the results were confirmed on Saturday, he said: "I've only done two timed laps with the new car before qualifying so, given the circumstances, it was quite an achievement. Everyone has done a great job and put in a lot of hard work, it's a shame not to have had one more day."
