Heikki Kovalainen rapidly chases and catches Alguersuari during the German GP in July. Toro Rosso were the worst of the existing teams, but that doesn't take away from the achievements of Lotus - repeatedly battling with both Alguersuari and Buemi for positions in qualifying and during the races themselves.

Kovalainen and Trulli helped secure Lotus the highest position of the new teams, although all three debutantes found themselves with zero points at the end of the year. Both Heikki and Jarno have been signed for 2012 as well, so that there will be some consistency within Lotus. The rest (the name, the colour scheme, the heritage) is all still up for grabs.
