Vettel's championship challenge has taken a bit of a knock after the Red Bull driver was excluded from qualifying and pushed to the back of the grid. After finishing third in the Saturday session, Vettel was forced to stop out on track and the car did not have enough fuel in to deliver a suitable sample to the stewards.

The FIA statement reads: "The Stewards determine that this is a breach of Article 6.2.2 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations and the Competitor is accordingly excluded from the results of the Qualifying Session. The Competitor is however allowed to start the race from the back of the grid."

The second row of the grid now features Pastor Maldonado in third and Kimi Räikkönen in fourth, whilst Fernando Alonso gets a bit of a break by moving up to sixth, and having his title rival forced to the back.
