Red Bull Racing confirmed their launch date today, with their next championship contender to be revealed on February 1st at Valencia. Ahead of the test, the waiting media and fans will get to see the new RB7 - the product of a winter's worth of work from Adrian Newey.

Before the launch date was settled upon, team principal Christian Horner revealed just how much work they were doing: "We're on schedule for first test. It will be extremely tight to be there and ready on time, but that is our aim." Last year, the RB6 was not ready in time for the initial pre-season test, with Red Bull preferring to wait for a subsequent test and use the time focusing on development.

Red Bull announced the launch via Twitter, including the fact it will begin at 8:30 am. They will have to do battle with four other teams for attention, as Mercedes GP, Team Lotus, Toro Rosso and Williams are all set to launch on the same day.
