With Mark Webber announcing his retirement at the end of the year, the speculation on who will replace him is gradually ramping up. And just in time to put their names in the frame, the Toro Rosso driver pairing of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Éric Vergne put in a great performance at Silverstone.

Vergne was unfortunately halted in his run by one of the tyre failures that marred the race, but Ricciardo qualified well into the top ten, starting fifth on the grid, and finished the race eighth overall.

Team Principal Franz Tost was calm and collected about their weekend, saying afterwards: "On the positive side, we can be pleased that in performance terms, the car has clearly continued to improve and now we only have a few days to wait before we can try and turn that improvement into a more significant number of points at the Nurburgring."
