Fernando Alonso and Stefano Domenicali share a hug at the end of a long afternoon's work at Silverstone. The team took their first win of the year with victory for the British Grand Prix, although luck played a little role in it. A long stop for Sebastian Vettel handed the lead to Alonso, but he still pulled out enough of a gap not to be challenged as the race went on.

Afterwards, he said: "What a wonderful surprise! The team did an amazing job and I dedicate this win to everyone at Maranello and at the track, whose work has allowed me and Felipe to drive such a good car. It is a very special win because it comes at a legendary track like Silverstone, in front of a crowd that is so enthusiastic about cars."

Team boss Domenicali is not getting carried away though, adding: "We were expecting an improvement for sure. But, it was so big to be honest, we need to be cautious, we need to understand the data, and we need to understand what the others are doing."
