Mark Webber's pole position seemed like his best chance to finally secure victory ahead of Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, but it was not to be. A poor start left Webber floundering, whilst Vettel made all the right moves to take victory.

It wasn't easy for the young German though, as he was hounded until the very closing stages of the race by Lewis Hamilton. McLaren and Red Bull showed their dominance by lapping all the other teams on the field.

After the race, Vettel spoke of his joy: "McLaren and Lewis especially gave us a hard time today. It's quite a release when you cross the line and you know that you made it, so I'm very, very happy. It was a great result and after yesterday a good confirmation that we are strong but, as expected, McLaren and Ferrari are giving us a hard time "
