Schumacher studies the data ahead of Australian GP
Mercedes GP

Michael Schumacher watches teammate Nico Rosberg at work via the magic of television, during the Australian Grand Prix weekend. Rosberg managed to outqualify his more experienced teammate by four positions so Schumacher had a lot of work to do in the race.

Unfortunately for Mercedes, they ended the Grand Prix with a double DNF. Schumacher had issues with the new tyres, namely a puncture that ruined his first lap, and did untold damage to the car. Mercedes admitted they retired Schumacher out of safety concerns.

After the race, Michael said: "The start of the season certainly has not worked out as we had hoped, and we will tick this race off now and concentrate on the next one in Malaysia. I am very sorry for our guys here and at the factory who have worked so hard and so well over the winter, but for some reason we could not bring their work into results this weekend."
