Finally, Red Bull have got their act together and resumed their position at the front of the field, with Sebastian Vettel topping the timesheets in FP3. Ferrari still seemed to have some mechanical gremlins with Fernando Alonso getting stuck in sixth gear at one point.

So, we turn our attention to qualifying, where getting on pole is super important, but perhaps not as key as it has been in previous seasons. The weather forecasts have changed to suggest plenty of sunshine and dry conditions, so the teams may not need to worry about their wet tyre experience.

Qualifying will begin at 12pm GMT+1 with the BBC and Factbyte Factbox coverage starting an hour beforehand.

Predictions

It's been on the cards for a while, but gradually, HRT are catching Virgin racing and finishing ahead of them. The question is whether they can do it when it counts, and today may be the first session they can overturn the competition. What do you think?
