For anyone struggling to find the location of the camp, Mr C has whipped up a flag. Or as he puts it: "couldn't find the flag, but found the pole and someone's spare bed sheet. good news is, you can't miss us. bad news is, you may be in for a chilly evening."
So, I have done the maths and it seems as though the average score for our F1 People Bingo is... drum roll, please... 18! That is not bad at all!
A round up of the action so far on Day 1 - a newsletter! http://twitter.com/sidepodcast/status/364472012506279937/photo/1
Good morning campers, or as I think it would only be fitting to say: Hi de hi!
Hope everyone had a restful evening because there's lots of work in store for you today.
Now you're all settled in, it's time for some camp basics, and we need to decide on the following:
I know there has been some work on the theme tune already, the results of the M*A*S*H style collaboration have been posted courtesy of Jordan: https://sidepodcast.com/snippet/sidepodcast-painless-sung-theme-mash-suicide-painless-sidepodcast-summer-camp-theme-tune
We've also started work on the ground rules. So far we have this: No loitering.
And Mr C wanted us to keep off the grass, but after the planes, trains and automobiles all took to the run off areas to slow to a halt and drop off their passengers yesterday, it may already be too late to save the greenery.
We also need to decide what film to watch for Sidepodfilmclub at the weekend. Going by what is available on iTunes, there is Grand Prix (which Jordan has been requesting forever but is quite long), Driven (shorter but apparently rubbish?) and tangentially Iron Man 2 (because of Monaco, baby!)
I did try looking for decent summer camp films but wasn't inspired.
Okay, for those who are wishing to participate in the Sidepodfilmclub this Saturday, the chosen film is The Italian Job. That's the original 1960s version, with Michael Caine having some door trouble, rather than the less-successful remake.
Thanks to the suggestion by Lou. I've not seen it but I've only ever heard good things about it, so I can't wait!
Make sure to grab your copy today. There is a rental version available on iTunes if that's your chosen distribution method. Other options are always available.
Time to introduce another activity to the camp, I think. This is what I have rather uninspiringly labelled The Alphabet Game. Because... it features an alphabet.
The idea is that, if there was to be an A to Z guide of Formula One, what items do you think would be best representing each letter.
For example, should it be Alonso or Adelaide? Or perhaps Australia as a whole? Or maybe even Arrows!?
Here's your most bodacious newsletter update for the second day of camp: http://twitter.com/sidepodcast/status/364848204711329792/photo/1
Good morning campers, rise and shine! How are we all? Missing home yet?
Today is a bit of an easier morning, building towards the first Round the Campfire evening. Thinking, music, marshmallows, ghost stories, you know the drill.
The Campfire is go via Wavelength - a social listening playlist thing: http://wavelength.fm/Sidepodcampfire
I do need to announce a slight change to the itinerary. Hopefully there will be a live show on Friday, so the first part of the Quiz is being brought forward to Thursday, that's tomorrow. Woohoo quiz!
Newsletter for the third day, where things get a bit fiery! http://twitter.com/sidepodcast/status/365208851508772864/photo/1
